Another crazy day. Up early to clean the camper that was so graciously given to us while we underwent the final preparation to launch day. A couple last minute shopping stops and back to Saunder's Yachtworks. I can't say enough good things about this company. They are very accommodating and every staff is so helpful and friendly. And I love the southern accent. At 10:30 Saunter was picked up, lifted and put back in her happy place, floating on her belly in this vast expanse of water that will be bringing her home to Northern Michigan.
We will spend our first night aboard Saunter. Glen went to pick a friend up from the airport. Anatanas (Ant) delightfully volunteered to cruise with us for a couple of weeks while we get comfortable with the handling of a new boat and to assist with our 120 mile Gulf Crossing which will take 14-16 hours (no stops). Most of it will be during the night.
Tonight we will relax, enjoy a beverage and homemade pizza while we contemplate and calculate our next move. We will check in with several weather apps to see if travel tomorrow will be favorable. Our next and first destination as we "Saunter the Loop" will be Destin, Florida, followed by Panama City and finally Carrabelle before we make our crossing. Of course all of this is subject to change.
Oops! I was so tired last night I forgot to publish this post. Here it its.
