Leg #58, June 19, 2022, Wye Heritage Marina to Tobermory, ON.

We enjoyed Wye Heritage Marina and would highly recommend it to loopers as a one night or extended stay. Take time to chat with Michelle in the office, she's a sweetheart!

Goodbye Wye Heritage Marina, Midland ON.

With a good weather window we departed at 5:25 a.m. on Sunday, June 19. Seas started out with a bit of chop and once past the islands, built to 3-4'. By 9:00 they began to subside and by 10:00 the remainder of our day was flat calm.

Open water doesn't leave much to take photos of but it was so pretty out on Georgian Bay at time completely out of sight of land.

Not the best photo but, Glen was napping and I'm at the helm, and he jumps up, scaring me half to death and grabs the camera to take a shot of the display screen. Well, the only time we would do something like that is if something was going wrong and we wanted to keep a record of the display readings. Well, no emergency. Glen somehow felt us cross the 45th parallel and jumped up in excitement to take a photo. Okay, my heart can start again. For those who don't know, the 45th parallel is home for us.

We arrived in Little Tub Harbor in Tobermory about 4:00 p.m. What an adorable little town and bustling with tourist. Our boat was assigned a location right in the center of activity. It's fun to be in a location like this to people watch but you have to realize people are watching us to, no privacy. I don't know how many photos Saunter was a backdrop for and most people not realizing we were just behind the windows. It's kind of funny and awkward at the same time.

Monday we planned to spend the day as tourist but it was wet and cold all morning so we did some housecleaning. Most tourist here, get on a boat and take in all the islands, rock bluffs, diving the clear water and shipwrecks, etc. One thing I didn't want to do was get on another boat. In the afternoon we did saunter about town and take in some of the shops and art gallery.

Early to bed tonight for an early departure for Michigan in the morning.
