Departed Cape May at 7:30 a.m. Called for 2-3’ all the way up. Not true. We exited the Cape May Inlet with surge coming in. We were in 3-4’ right from the get-go. We went offshore a mile to find calmer water. It did calm a bit, back to predicted 2-3’ with occasional 4-5’ once we were in 35+’ depth.
We were happy to arrive at Atlantic City where we will spend two nights, rest up, do some house cleaning and change the oil.
What a fun place and beautiful marina. Dock service was lacking but all in all it was good. There was live music at the outside restaurant area, a roof top swimming pool and lounge, casinos and ticks. Yep, ticks. The girls, Glen and I all found ticks on us from a grassy area we took the girls to play.
Our first night we went to Angelo’s for dinner with Chris and Kim from Pura Vida. We had a wonderful Italian meal and enjoyed the great company.
The next morning, we tried to change the oil but the cylinders were so pressurized Glen couldn’t get them loose. At least not with the broken tool that was left onboard. So, he called for assistance, and we waited all day for the guy to show up. This left us hanging at the boat all day and didn’t get to the pier. But we did have cocktails and dinner at the rooftop lounge with a group of loopers. Glen was pulled from the gathering because our service person showed up around 6:30 or so.
Three of us will be leaving tomorrow. Kim and Chris are staying the week but will catch up with us in Michigan, if not sooner.
