We said goodbye to Myrtle Beach at 6:50 a.m. and got underway for Southport, NC. We immediately crossed under a bridge, and it was all new. It wasn’t developed, the terrain changed, and we realized that with every leg of the trip we see change in the types of homes, landscapes, terrains, wildlife and people.
This was a short and pleasant trip.
We arrived in Southport at 11:55 a.m. under mildly windy conditions and had the best dock hand crew ever. Four men caught our lines, got us in place, tied up, hooked up power and then assisted with a pump-out. The dockhand station was a cute little houseboat with a front porch for relaxing while things were quiet.
After our routine with the girls Glen worked and I did laundry. In the evening we went to the Rusty Hook for a drink and appetizer. This was the cleanest bar I have EVER been to. Everything in its place, and spotless. We enjoyed our hour away from the girls and Saunter. We came back and fixed dinner onboard and got ready for an early sunrise departure and 80-mile trip to Swansboro, NC.
We would highly recommend South, Southport Harbor Marina.
