Departed Daytona at 6:50 a.m. We had a long 53-mile trip. It was a another beautiful day to be on the water, with lots of things to see. We arrived in St. Augustine at 1:15 with wind and crazy strong currents as we had just come in at low tide but Glen docked without issue. We had a young girl for our dockhand, and she put all our previous senior know-it-all dockhands to shame. She was trained very well and was pleasant on top of that.

As always, the next thing to do is walk these girls. There wasn’t a lot of play area but enough to make do.
Surprised to find Panacea here. Saunter's sister ship that we met in Titusville.

This marina landed us right in the heart of the historic district. And sooo many tourist. St. Augustine attracts a very diverse group of people. As we walked through the alleyway, I could hear what sounded like a dozen different languages being spoken and echoing off the walls. It was a cool experience.
After exploring the area in the heat, we sought out a place for a drink and snack. At the recommendation of Virginia (a very friendly trolley ticket lady) we landed at Mehann’s seafood Irish Pub. We had a drink and a baked oyster-flight. Delicious!
After refreshing ourselves we walked over to an old fort sitting adjacent to the marina. On the water in front of the fort was the marinas mooring field. Glen and I started talking about procedures to moor and we were using the bow of a random boat on a mooring ball for reference. After a couple of minutes Glen said, “look at the boat”. I looked and it was “Ryhker” we used as our reference boat.

Our friends we said goodbye to in Daytona, left a day early and came here. Right away we contacted them and connected for a delightful dinner at O. C. White’s. They will be staying in St. Augustine for the week and enjoying all the many attractions offered. After dinner we said goodbye again and plan to get together in Michigan next summer. They will leave their boat for the winter in Chesapeake Bay.
We had a great time in St. Augustine and will be back for a longer stay.
