Travel was good. It was a short 13-mile trip to Daytona. This was a planned trip to have a mechanic come and take care of a few things for us. Our thermostat has been getting stuck open, Glen wants the serpentine belt replaced and a few other small preventative things cared for. Things if at home he would tackle himself. But he would like to avoid the “one thing leads to another” that typically happens at the most inconvenient times. So this is the marina the mechanic wants us at. We arrived Wednesday night anticipating him to work on the boat Thursday or Friday. Thursday comes along and we call him, with no return call, we hang around just in case. We call again, no reply until late in the day and he says the parts aren’t in and plans on Friday morning. Friday morning arrives and no word. But we are hanging around and waiting to hear from him. About noon, no parts, maybe at 2:00, then maybe at 4:00. About 4:30 all the parts are delivered to the boat, but no service work will be done. It’s Easter weekend and we wouldn’t expect him to work and would feel bad if he did. His schedule was full for the following week. We will be looking for a mechanic further north.
The marina we were at wasn’t at all convenient for shops and restaurants . It had nice parks around it for the girls. We caught an Uber on Friday between Glen’s many conference calls to do a bit of grocery shopping at Publix.
We didn’t get a chance to do any sightseeing due to waiting the entire time for the mechanic and Glen did have to work on Thursday and Friday. Didn’t even get any photos of interest.
The best part was re-connecting with Swen and Katja. They hosted docktails on their boat

“Rykher” on Wednesday evening and we hosted aboard Saunter on Thursday. This is them coming in on Wednesday afternoon.
If we stopped in the area again, I would choose a different marina. Although this was a very large marina, clean facilities, nice people and parks, there just wasn’t the access to town.
Shelby found a new favorite place to ride.
