It's getting real! I'm feeling a lot of anxiety and excitement. Over the past few days we continue with the "oh yeahs". Oh yeah we'll need this, Oh yeah we'll need that. We said this more times than I want to admit.
I spent a couple hours deciding what spices and seasonings to stock our galley with. We typically buy in bulk, so the bulk of my time was spent finding smaller jars for more realistic quantities to pack. I do plan on doing quite a bit of cooking onboard. Especially with the rise in gas/diesel prices. Our meals ashore might be a bit more limited. Hopefully prices will start working their way down by the time of departure. I'm not to sure about that but, I'm hopeful.
Yesterday was my birthday and I was so excited get boating items that will make my experiences easier. I got things like line handling gloves, Easyfenders (for hanging fenders off the rails and easy adjustment) to make my fender handling so much faster, two way communication set so that Glen and I won't have to yell at each other during critical boat handling times, journals for keeping memories and more. It was fun that everyone got involved in the theme of our journey.
House cleaning and more organizing scheduled for today. We'll see how much of that gets done before the next Oh Yeah.
